Through this project a series of 12 IPM guides were developed for small-scale vegetable and berry farmers in the Fraser Valley and Lillooet-Pemberton areas. These resources were developed with both wet/coastal and dry/interior conditions in mind. Thus, growers in other regions of BC will likely find the information applicable to their local conditions.

This three-year project worked in collaboration with small-scale growers to identify, test and evaluate multiple integrated pest management (IPM) practices in order to develop an IPM Guide series designed specially to meet the needs of small-scale and diversified growers. Better pest management is essential as climate change is reducing the effectiveness of current practices and creating conditions for new pests to be introduced. These guides offer easy to follow instructions for pest identification and management to boost growers’ capacity for on-farm pest management.
