Disease control patterns in the Okanagan tree fruit industry

This report details the findings of a project to connect horticultural and pathological data to a geographical mapping system.

The project gathered and analyzed data from growers for three key disease areas for the Okanagan tree fruit industry.

The study looked at:

  • General fruit rot of stone fruits
  • Tree cankers
  • Soil pathogens

The purpose was to determine the uniformity, stability and potential shifts that might result from natural variability within pathogen populations initiated by climate change.
